Jonas Stark, born in 1998, began his musical training with Jelena Semenenko at the age of five. After completing his Bachelor’s degree at the Hochschule für Musik Saar in 2018, he completed his Master’s degree and Professional Diploma with Ian Fountain at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Since 2021 he has been studying in the solo class of Roland Krüger at the Hanover University of Music, Drama and Media.
He has won prizes at many national and international competitions, including the Hong Kong International Piano Competition 2022 and a special prize at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich 2022. In addition, Stark has twice received the Saarland Special Prize for outstanding solo performances and is a Young Steinway Artist.
Concert tours have taken him throughout Germany, France, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Poland, Slovakia, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Russia, China and Australia. Jonas Stark is a scholarship holder of the Studienstiftung des Deutschen Volkes, the DAAD, the Deutsche Stiftung Musikleben and the Countess of Munster Musical Trust.
Jonas Stark plays works by Franz Schubert and Ludwig van Beethoven at the DAI.
