DAI Fellow Program

This is a new program that the German American Institute in Heidelberg is launching to attract distinguished intellectuals from all parts of the world to address the social, cultural, political, economic and environmental issues of interest to the global community of nations. Since this program intends to focus on global issues rather than on national or regional issues, the first seminar will try to provide an overview of the most pressing global issues of today, and explain the intricate relationships that tie them together, whereby each issue influences other issues and is influenced by them.

Professor Mohamed Rabie is a renowned Palestinian American intellectual. He is in Germany on a three month grant from the Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung. Rabie’s latest four books will be used as bases for the issues to be discussed.

The seminar is open to the public, but should be of particular interest to graduate students in the humanities and social sciences, as well as for school teachers and media professionals.
